I know I am not the only person that hangs out on the computer on a Saturday looking up The Row information and dreaming about owning a backpack by my favorite duo, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Ever since I gained knowledge about the label I can not stop thinking about how amazing the brand is. These girls are freakin’ smart.

Even though their products are extremely costly they created a brand that does not serve people trend but pieces of clothing that transcend beyond seasons. I think that is very important for people, no matter what price bracket they are in. Everyone is looking for things that will last long and beyond rather than “it” articles that fade out of style after a few months. I appreciate fashion like every other freak out there that wants and loves the shit the industry dishes out but lets be real, simplicity is always key.

I am obsessed with the CFDA Fashion Fund. It is a good way to learn about new amazing designers and I am all about that stuff. I love falling for those small designers and I love growing to love them even more as they grow as a company. This year The Elder Statesman won the CFDA grand prize. I have no real idea of the company but with a few clicks the internet helps me gages insight into the label.

I am noticing lots of cashmere and simple pieces of clothing. I need to watch their mini webisodes to learn what is so special about the brand. I guess it is refreshing that this year the CFDA is helping people that aren’t a high end ready to wear company. The high end casual market isn’t huge so I see what they did there.

To be honest I was rooting for SUNO and Wes Gordon. I met Wes Gordon at the show ELLE threw back in September. He is so handsome I just couldn’t help but fan girl. Such a sweet guy but I was totally being bias because I met him and because Lena Dunham wears him. Anyways I this is just me having a fashion rant about nothing but my love for the fashion fund.

Must watch, I am bias because I was back stage helping and was apart of the magic in general before hand. ELLE and the students at FIT did an amazing job. I am so proud this was my first fashion show that I was apart of ever!

The Flaws of the Flawless

After working with female models for a fitting yesterday I found out that these people we call the fairest of them all are not so. As much as I adore models, let me introduce you to the high of my model obsession: sophomore year of high school when Model dot com was where I frequented the most move over Myspace/Facebook, they are not all gorgeous head to toe.

So we all know that models have to wear sky scraping heels that no normal girl would dane to wear. But lets just thinking about their feet for a moment. Well, actually, let me tell you what I saw. Many of the girls did not clip their toe nails, they had blisters, and their feet were basically bandaged up. True Story: Models Need Pedicures ASAP! But in actuality they are being really smart about not getting one because now they will get free pedicures all fashion week. I just wanted to say that I was tired of seeing their feet. I mean gurl, are you kidding me? At least clip your toes.

Other then that they are goddesses! So damn pretty but they all reminded me of my own friends. Now I understand that models are just like everyone else really. They are really pretty but so is everyone else in the world that isn’t five foot nine inches and is paper thin. I just think that people need to be reminded that everyone has their physical faults, models just hide it well because they have people airbrushing it for them.

Now the male model are flawless…..DATE ME ALREADY.

As a huge fan of magazines in general, I am excited to see Carine Roitfeld’s new project come out this September. I am only here to say good about Roirfeld’s fashion book because I do not expect anything less then a jaw dropping fashion magazine laid out in glossy realness from such an icon as Roitfeld. I just saw CR Fashion Book’s latest teaser video and I totally get this new age edgy vibe/ street style but not really (only because there are tons of footage of her feet walking on the streets not because there seems to actually be street style in the book) that is coming out from this video. CR Fashion Book is defiantly no French Vogue but rather reflects similar visual aspects to another reportable book, V Magazine, which they happen to share the same publishing company, Fashion Media Group LLC. In all, I think this teaser is a representation of what the magazine will be like. I am on the edgy of my seat in anticipation to flip through the pages and find out what I am actually exacted about post hype. Your move Carine Roitfeld. Is this a magazine for the new generation of fashion savvy folks, only time will tell.

Little old me got an internship with one of the most iconic magazines in the world, ELLE. I know I haven’t shared much lately, and I just want to thank everyone that is still following me. I just have been stuck in suburban hell and have been side tracked with Alaskan stuff. I am ready to share whatever I can with you guys when I start, if they allow me, my magazine life. Probably going to mostly be updating you guys with photos of Balmain, Givenchy and ect. ELLE seems like such a lovely place and I am ready drive right in and give it my all.

With positivity and strength you can do anything you set your mind on.

-First up we have the Celine T-shirt, the ultimate Tee costing about $405 which I could not find a link to online for you spendy online shoppers. I think it is a thing where you actually have to go into the store and ask them about. Hinted to by this article.

-Then we have a pair of Warby Parker Fillmore glasses in Tennessee Whiskey for $95

-Next a pair of magical Masion Martin Margiela cut out high tops, for which I have no clue where to find on the net. But don’t they look just ravishing?

How about that Kenzo? Well, my thought are, “Hubba, hubba, get me in to them duds.” Quit judging me, I am just waiting for my prince charming to save me right now. May he be in Kenzo’s Spring 2013 menswear collection and be somewhat my size so I could borrow them from him.

Lets talk the collection. I see lots of earthy tones and I am vibing on a safari jungle adventure. All in all I am digging it and in an alternate universe where I could afford the beauty that is Kenzo I would say, “When can I get this collection in my arms?” All I can really say in this universe is, “My body is ready.”

There have been mostly positive reviews for Raf Simons’s first Christian Dior Fall 2012 Show. But what do you guys think? Personally, I have never been a Dior fan. I think I stated this once before but it is true. But now that Raf Simons is in the mix he has totally in the process of changing my mind. I love Raf’s designs and I think this Dior show is digging back to Dior’s roots with a fresh take. I am a huge fan of minimalism with dramatic shapes and this show was just that. Kudos to Raf Simons for shining a new light on an oldie but goodie.

In an age where musicians have more power than designers to dictate what the masses dawn on their bodies, Lana Del Rey has transformed my thoughts on headbands. The headbands in questions are in fact my own summer must have, the flower crown. Though this isn’t quite a concept for the people of ready to wear, or even men but I dare you to break thoseboundaries.

But first I have to question: can this be something? Can we all run around looking like woodland people with flowers in our hair and pleasant thoughts in our minds?

Anyways, make yourself a crown and wear it. Doesn’t matter if you wear it at home on the computer or out where all the freaks stare at you. If you like it why not do it?

From a high volume of sex to high family values, Dolce & Gabbana Men’s Ready To Wear Spring 2013 just reminds me of how much this house has grown. Dolce & Gabbana’s ads used to be filled with greased up naked male models but now they have turned over to more of a wholesome look involving D&G for the family and I love the concept. This collection was one of my favorites this season. I loved how vintage it felt, they really went back to old Italy and dug up the best of the past. I loved the trousers and the printed dress shirts, which I felt to be somewhat like my own personal style. Overall, the whole collection left me with a warm feeling and a yearning to be an Italian male but since I can’t be Italian in heritage, I will just try looking like Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring 2013 Ready to Wear men.

I am not going to say I love Prada Men’s Ready to Wear Spring 2013, because I feel like there were some hits and some misses in the entire collection. I am a huge fan of their womens collection, I have always had a connection to that part of Prada but it is different for their mens. I know Prada knows how to make a great suit but when it comes to more of the casual look, I wouldn’t expect Prada to give me what I wanted in that aspect. But there were a few pieces I really enjoyed, and they are obviously presented above. I liked the neutrality of everything, navy suits are always my favorite and now that I see most collections end in white, I am back to my white loving days once again.

Every piece is absolutely wearable and is able to hit many consumer’s sweet spots. Okay, it is time is cross the pond and drink the Pringle of Scotland Kool-Aid.
